According to the website of the Astan, the center’s education department expects to train 100 Quran teachers in the courses.
Those willing to take the courses should be at least 16 years old, Ala Muhsin, the center’s director, said.
They are also required to have passed Tajweed courses before registering for the teachers training program, he added.
According to Muhsin, the courses are aimed at training and enhancing the teaching and Quranic skills of Quran teachers and promoting the Quranic culture in the Najaf governorate and other areas of Iraq.
He said applicants should refer to the education department of the center at the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) for registration.
Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
